Wings for Chloe, Inc
Wings for Chloe, Inc. is a non-profit organization started by Steven and Ashley Friel in 2012 to keep alive the memory of their daughter, Chloe, who passed away at 38 weeks gestation. The mission of Wings for Chloe, Inc. is to assist bereaved families by providing hospitals with memory boxes to give to the families who have lost a baby (babies), either inutero or shortly after birth. In the memory boxes we provide reading material with information to assist families cope, baby (newborn and preemie) blankets, hats (newborn and preemie), tiny wooden crosses, and any other items that would be appropriate for a newborn or preemie.
This note was received after we delivered the items to Ashley:
“I met a group of the sweetest ladies I have ever met today…..These ladies got a group of ladies together and crocheted 45 blankets, 21 baby hats and booties for our boxes. I literally cried when they showed me what was in the box. Made my week. These items will help out tremendously with our boxes. Thank you so much ladies!!! Ashley F.”
On Monday evenings the Upper Elementary Sunday School classroom is transformed into a room filled with ladies creating gifts for others. Their hands are busy for the Lord, either knitting or crocheting. Experienced as well as beginners and those that need remediation are welcome to work with them. These ladies are amazing! This past year through this ministry many different people were blessed. Because of their hard work the following gifts were distributed:
